WHY DOES MENTAL HEALTH EDUCATION MATTER?

By  joining Mirakles, a 501(c)3 nonprofit community organization, on our  mission to make people better by igniting their potential, you will help  them transform their heartbreak and struggles into wiser thinking  through mental health education, life skills & biblical principles.

Your  support brings interactive coaching through mental health education and  life skills to low income and homeless men, women and young adults.  You’ll provide this life-changing service for free to people who are  hurting and in need!

WHY DOES MENTAL HEALTH EDUCATION MATTER?

We  believe that every person has a right, and a need, to have healthy life  skills and be resilient. We have a responsibility to prepare our  community by helping our men, women and young adults who often don't get  the help that they desperately need.   We can do that by starting with a  strong mindset to cope with life. Right now, the numbers show that we,  as a society, are failing in that responsibility.  According to ABC  News, in their article http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/health/2012/01/19/1-in-5-americans-suffer-from-mental-illness/,
1 in 5 Americans Suffers From Mental Illness such as depression, panic  and anxiety attacks and other forms of life struggles that bring people  down.

WHY GIVE TO MIRAKLES?

Through  Mirakles, we've been working to solve these problems for the past 5  years. But, we need your help because, despite our progress, there are  big challenges left to face.

Not all men, women and young adults  know about or have access to Mirakles' services. Our goal is to  cultivate a sense of wisdom for mental health education for within our  society. To coach people everywhere, we need to be everywhere. We need  to be able to do more community outreach.

OUR VISION

Empower low income and homeless men, women and young adults with the proper  mental health education tools and skills through teaching, mentoring and  education skills that are evidence and scientifically proven to work!

With YOUR help, we will be able to make the Mirakles' teaching and coaching skills available to more people in need.

Together, we can coach, teach, mentor and educate people on HOW to have a Healthy Mindset--FOR FREE!

When  people know HOW to have a strong mindset through coaching, teaching,  mentoring and education, EVERYONE benefits because this results in more a  THRIVING and STRONGER ECONOMY as wells as STRENGTHENED families and  individuals.   And overall, a more RESILIENT COMMUNITY!

We can  make sure that 100’s of people learn to make wiser choices at home, at  work, and in life in general. But, we can’t do it without you. That's  why we hope you’ll join us in making a difference!

We believe  that showing, educating, teaching and coaching people in how to become  more resilient through a stronger mindset, will provide the greatest  reward. This is because we are changing legacies for many generations  with our mission to make people better. The benefits are wonderful, and  these benefits go to YOU and the COMMUNITY YOU LIVE IN!

Your  support brings interactive coaching through mental health education to  low income and homeless men, women and young adults. You’ll provide this  life-changing services for free to people in need!

FACTS & STATISTICS:  DID YOU KNOW?

According  to https://www.adaa.org/about-adaa/press-room/facts-statistics, anxiety  disorders are the most common mental illness in the U.S., affecting 40  million adults in the United States age 18 and older, or 18% of the  population. (Source: National Institute of Mental Health).

This  article further said that anxiety disorders are highly treatable, yet  only about one-third of those suffering receive treatment. Mirakles  offer scientifically and evidence based proven skills and tools to make  people better through education and empowering tools.

Anxiety  disorders:

🔴cost the U.S. more than $42 billion a year

🔴almost one-third  of the country's $148 billion total mental health bill

According to  "The Economic Burden of Anxiety Disorders," a study commissioned by ADAA  (The Journal of Clinical Psychiatry, 60(7), July 1999).

More than  $22.84 billion of those costs are associated with the repeated use of health care services; people with anxiety disorders seek relief for  symptoms that mimic physical illnesses.

Furthermore, the  Huffington Post wrote in their article  http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/01/20/depression-statistics_n_6480412.html the following: Depression has a way of tricking even the happiest of  people into thinking that life isn’t worth experiencing. Their energy is  evaporated, what once was pleasurable is now less-than appealing and  the physical symptoms are completely taxing.

Sounds pretty  terrible, right? While many people consider mental illness in the  abstract — an affliction outside the realm of possibility in their own  lives — the sad reality is that these disorders are distressingly  common. The article provided the following statistics that show  depression has a greater impact than you might think.

350,000,000
The number of people globally who are affected by some form of depression.

11%
The percentage of adolescents who have a depressive disorder by the age of 18.

16,000,000
The  estimated number of U.S. adults who had at least one major depressive  episode 2012. This made up approximately 6.9 percent of all adults in  the country.

14%
The percentage of women from a 2013 postpartum depression study who had the disorder four to six weeks after giving birth.

30%
The number of college students who reported feeling depressed, which disrupted their ability to function in school.

$80,000,000,000
The estimated annual cost of depression in the U.S. due to lost productivity and health care.

50%
The percentage of Americans with major depression who don’t seek treatment for the mental illness.

10%
The estimated number of American adults age 65 and older who have a diagnosable depressive disorder.
